Var det poliserna som inte räckte till eller var det deras beväpning ?

I dagarna har filmklipp spridits på internet och det visar hur tre kvinnliga poliser får problem i samband med ett ingripande på ett flyktingboende. Många spydiga inlägg har spridits via sociala medier. Det är uppenbart att polismännen inte under filmsekvensen lyckades gripa våldsverkaren.

Var problemet polisernas bristande fysiska styrka ?

Ja kanske det, men ingen är väl så naiv så att det tror att en polismän i varje läge är fysiskt starkare än den person som skall omhändertas. Vad var polisens beväpning vid det aktuella tillfället. Batong, skjutvapen och ev. pepparsprej. Situationen var nog inte den mest lämpade för pepparspray. Kvar att välja mellan var batongen och skjutvapnet. Oavsett vad många säger så bär det emot att skjuta mot en annan människa.

Under många år har jag förespråkat utrustningen som snabbt slår ut denna typ av gärningsmän utan att poliserna skall behöva känna oro för att allvarligt skada personerna som skall gripas. Äntligen kommer elpistoler att testas inom vissa polisområden.

Det som finns kvar att fundera över är vilken teknik som kan användas när det ingripanden mot fler personer vid samma tillfälle. Har sett nät som kan skjutas över grupper av människor och på det sättet få slut på stenkastning och andra dumheter.

Polismännen måste få mer anpassad utrustning till dagens brottslighet. Ingripanden får inte bara bygga på fysisk styrkemätning.
